What are chakras?
Cakra, usually transliterated in Chakra (‘Cha’ › 'energy' and ‘Kra’ › ‘wheel’) is a sanskrit term meaning 'wheel of fire, sun, plexus'.
A chakra is a center of activity that receives, assimilates, and expresses life force energy. Balancing the Chakra System means to balance energetically each associated organ.
Each chakra has its centre in one of the seven glands of our endocrine system and rules hormones secretion.
According to Indian philosophy chakras fit within systems that link the human body and mind into a single unit, sometimes called the 'bodymind'. Therefore, when we work on our body, we stimulate our mind and vice versa.
Human beings, most of the animals and some plants have seven main chakras.
