A moment of lemon scented bliss.. lemon flavoured apple dumplings
Ingredients
- 1 package of puff pastry dough
- 4 apples
- 8 amaretti cookies
- 7 tablespoons Limmi Sweet
- Milk as needed
- Cinnamon to taste
Preparation
Peel and core the apples, cut them into small cubes and place them in a bowl. Add crumbled amaretti cookies, a pinch of cinnamon, 7 tablespoons of LIMMI Sweet and toss to thoroughly coat the apples.
With a pastry pin, roll out the puff pastry and cut it into to 5 cm squares. Place a dollop of apple and LIMMI Sweet filling in the centre of each square, leaving enough space to join the edges of the dough and form a tidy pouch thereafter.
Brush the sealed dumplings with milk and place them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
Pre-heat the oven and bake at 200° C for about 15 minutes.
Once ready, top with powdered sugar and serve alone or with sweet sabayon custard or with a delicious lemon cream.
