Change of Season in Your Closets

They say neatness can help your well-being (have your read The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing?); a perfectly organized closet can symbolically help us reorganize our life.

You should try it too, but don’t rush.

To reorganize things, your things, you have to (re)learn to make time for yourself. Fall, with its dark and somewhat melancholic days, will make the work easier, and the change of seasons will help transform the way we feel and look.

The first step is to remove all garments from the closet, and sort them into 3 bins, labelled Keep, Give away, Throw out.

The second step is to air out, sanitize and freshen up the closet before placing the new season’s clothes in it.

There’s no need to spend money on chemical cleaners. All you need is a few simple and natural ingredients.

Limmi Lemon juice and baking soda will do the job. Just pour them in a small bowl, mix them, dip a soft cloth in it and use to clean the interior of the closet an leave it smelling nice and citrusy clean.

Once the closet is clean, place your garments in it together with a few scent sachets. Even better, make your own sachets, by soaking bits of sponge in lemon essential oil, and wrapping them in tulle (you can recycle the tulle around the Jordan almond favors from weddings, baptisms, and first communions).

And the third step? Well, after all that work, lay on the bed, and enjoy a nice cup of tea scented with the new Limmi Sweet & Sour.

Happy…change of season!
