Some call them in Italy cinepanettone, others great Christmas classics but no matter what, December is the time to gather the family among one party and the next, and watch these heart warming Christmas themed movies.

Following are 10 DVD that, in our opinion are Christmas flicks collection “must haves”:

  • Miracle on 34th street – 1947 original by G. Seaton, starring John Payne and Maureen O’Hara
  • Nightmare before Christmas – 1993 original by H.Selick, starring and produced by Tim Burton
  • How the Grinch stole Christmas – 2000 version directed by R.Howard, starring Jim Carrey
  • A Christmas carol – 2009 Disney version in 3D, starring Jim Carrey
  • Jack Frost – 1998 with Michael Keaton and Kelly Preston, directed by Troy Miller
  • Natale in casa Cupiello – 1931 tragicomedy starring and written by Eduardo de Filippo
  • It’s a wonderful life – the 1946 film by Frank Capra for which James Steward won an Oscar
  • Edward scissor hands – 1990 starring Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder, directed by Tim Burton
  • Mickey’s Christmas carol – Disney’s animated version of Dickens’ romance “A Christmas Carol”, starring Uncle Scrooge McDuck as Ebenezer Scrooge
  • The sound of music – 1965 musical about a family standing united in the face of adversity, with brilliant Julie Andrews as Maria, directed by Robert Wise
