Natural Cold Remedies: Echinacea and Lemon Juice

Echinacea tea helps prevent colds naturally.

You can find this herbal tea in herbalist’s shops or supermarkets, sold in pre-measured and ready to use tea bags.

Once the water is hot, we recommend letting the tea bag steep in it for 3-4 minutes. You can sweeten the tea with 1 tablespoon of honey and 3 teaspoons of Limmi lemon juice, or otherwise omit the honey and use 3 teaspoons of  Limmi Sweet instead.

Drink the tea 3 times a day, and after a couple of days you will start to feel better already.

Perhaps not everyone knows that…

Echinacea purpurea is a plant in the Asteraceae family, native to North America. It is known for its medicinal properties, and in particular for strengthening the immune system, thereby preventing influenza and colds.

The roots are used to prepare teas of renowned anti-viral properties and recommended to cure all kinds of cold-related ailments typical of the fall and winter season: sinus infections, ear infections, colds, and influenza.

Echinacea inhibits hyaluronidase enzymes, which degrade the action of hyaluronic acid. It should not be taken during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or by anyone affected by hyperactive immune system conditions.
