Once in a while, it happens. You catch a chill, which lowers your immune defences and upsets your gut, leading to conditions like diarrhea, nausea, and bloating.
To overcome this bothersome malaise by natural means we have to start from the inside and heal our innards with the right foods.
Let’s try one of Grandma’s classics remedies, rice with potatoes and lemon, a dish of astringent powers, capable of stabilizing and soothing irritated bowels, while hydrating and nourishing the entire body.
Here’s how to make it
Ingredients
- 100 g rice
- water as needed
- salt to taste
- 3 tablespoons LIMMI lemon juice
- 4 potatoes
- grated grana cheese to taste
Preparation
Peel and boil the potatoes. Once fork tender, put them in a bowl, mash them, and start on the rice. Bring a full pan of water to a boil. Stir in a pinch of salt and the rice.
Cook the rice in boing water for the time stated on the box. Thereafter drain it, put it back in the pan, stir in the mashed potatoes, lemon juice, and grated grana cheese. If you wish, also add a tablespoon of Aulus extra-virgin olive oil.
