From The Sicilian Sun
The lemon PGI Siracusa grows between the sea and the hinterland of Syracuse, on a fertile and flat coast, within 210 meters above sea level, it is the most suitable area for growing lemons which stand out for their high juiciness and richness of oil glands in the peel. A strict PGI disciplinary guarantees the right balance and development of the plant, which must always be subject to correct aeration, with a maximum density of 400-500 plants per hectare. From The Sicilian Sun
The Sicilian Lemon grows in suitable territories, lemon groves like “gardens by the sea,” kissed by the sun. In an area immersed in beauty and nature that is unique in the world, they guard islands of biodiversity; they are balanced agroecosystems in which the cycle of life, from pollinating insects to the vegetation growing wild at the base of the trees, is the common thread for sustainable productions. Although cultivation is spread out over a wide coastal arc, the crop has homogeneous characteristics concerning the favorable climate, the alluvial, lime-rich and well-hydrated soil, the varieties grown, and the human factor: the farmers’ pride. A unique quality dense with emotion.

From the Sun of the Tropics
Lime is considered the citrus fruit of the tropics, growing in tropical climates, mainly in Latin and Caribbean America, Mexico, and Southeast Asia. where the typical warm-humid climate with abundant rainfall and moderate cold ensures optimal fruit development. The ideal soil for its cultivation should be well drained and requires regular watering, with misting in winter and mulching in spring to maintain moisture. The Lime tree grows and fruits up to three times a year and reaches 4-5 meters in height. Harvesting begins in July: it is hand-picked while still green, at the time when it is at its tastiest and juiciest.
